The Top 40 Invite is an application based event designed for strong 2017 and 2018 birth-year hockey players. Hosted in Columbus, the event brings together athletes for an intensive four-day experience focused on professional skill development, competition, and education.
Daily Structure
Each day includes 3 hours of training:
On-Ice (2 hours total)
- 1-hour of elite skills development led by current and former NHL players.
- 1-hour game, 4 teams of 10 skaters & 1 goalie.
Off-Ice (1 hour)
- Professional guest speakers from the hockey world.
- Athletic training sessions
- Breakout education sessions focused on player development, mindset, and leadership
Team Formation
The event kicks off with an Opening Ceremony Draft Party, where teams are selected to create a memorable and engaging start to the weekend.
Applications are available until February 1st.

TOP 40 INVITE
Brendan Smith (14-year NHL veteran) has created an event called the Top 40 Invite that will take place on June 8th - 11th in Columbus. This is an invite only event for the Top 40 2018s in the Mid-West (Ohio/MI/PA) area. Each day will consist of a 2-hour skate and an hour off-ice session. The on-ice session will be an hour skills session, 6 rotating stations with skill specific drills. The second hour will be a 4 team cross ice game. The off-ice portion will have guest speakers, training sessions, and breakout education sessions.
